December 2007On November 20th we packed up and headed north to Virginia for Thanksgiving with the family. My parents came along in the coach with us and seemed to enjoy the ride. It’s so comfortable traveling in the coach! Dad sat up front in the “throne” seat and kept Dan company while Mom and I spread out on the couches in back. Nikki and Troy’s house was beautiful as usual and all decorated for the holiday. Nikki and I had fun cooking Thanksgiving dinner together and it was so nice seeing the family. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen everyone! We hung out in Virginia for a few days then headed back to our home base in New Jersey. We’ve been in jersey for two weeks now! It was really strange coming back into the house after almost five months in the coach. The house felt so big and strange! I even ended up sleeping in the coach the first night home. My bed here in the house just didn’t seem right. It took a week or so but I finally adjusted and things are fine now! It’s been a busy few weeks! We’ve cleaned and decorated the house for Christmas, seen the family and a few friends and done some Christmas shopping. Dan’s been back in the office every day getting things straightened out there. He and the boys have their annual ski trip to Banff scheduled for just after New Years, so we’ll be staying here in Jersey at least through the first week in January and possibly a bit longer before getting the coach packed up and heading south west for the next leg of our journey. I’m not sure when I’ll send out another journal entry but rest assured I will pick it up once we’re on the road again! For now, we wish everyone a happy holiday season and happy healthy New Year to come! |
